Choosing the Right Dog Bed

Author: Rhonda Shifflett

Is your dog comfortable? Do they have a hard time fitting into their bed? If you answered yes to either of these questions, please continue to read the following suggestions in this article. Your pet needs a comfortable, relaxing bed as well as you do. You want to purchase the right bed to fit your dog's individual needs. No one knows your dog better than you. So if your dog isn't happy, it may be that they are not comfortable in their bed.

Here are some suggestions to follow. Shop around for a durable yet comfortable dog bed. You want to check and see what type of material the bed is made of. Try to find a non-allergenic, machine washable material. Like people, your pets have allergies too.

You should purchase a dog bed that fits your pets weight. For example, if your pet weighs 30 lbs, you would want to purchase a 23 inch round dog bed or a 31x31 inch square dog bed, so your pet can rest comfortably. You want to purchase a dog bed that is not to small or not to big for your pet. You wouldn't want to put a 30 lb dog in a dog bed made for a 10 lb dog. You should research the recommended size and weight for any dog bed you want to purchase for your pet.

Some dogs like to rest in a very soft, warm and cozy dog bed. Some may prefer a firmer, warm and cozy dog bed. You should pay attention to the places your dog sleeps in your home. Your dog may prefer to sleep on a soft and comfortable couch or chair. Your dog may prefer to sleep on a rug or carpeted floor. Your dog has his or her favorite place to sleep in your home, just like you do. So by paying attention to your pets sleeping habits, this will assist you in choosing the right comfortable cozy dog bed for your dog to rest and relax in. So if your dog prefers to sleep on the floor, you may want to purchase a firm dog bed. If your do prefers a couch or soft chair, you may want to purchase a soft plush dog bed for your dog.

When purchasing your pets bed make sure the bed is made of good durable material. The dog bed should also be machine washable and dry. A bed that can be washed and dried on a regular basis helps your dog to keep good hygiene. It also helps to cut down on dog odors in your home. A good clean dog bed can also help keep fleas and other parasites your dog may attract out of your house.

You dog can't go to the store and purchase a dog bed for themselves, so you should show how much you care and purchase a comfortable dog bed for them to sleep on.
